About “International Creative Ceremony”

“International Creative Ceremony” is pre-scheduled reoccurring program which is basically held in gap of every two years. This event is considered as one of the most important and meaningful program celebrated as a creative festival of the organization.

Global Bhutanese Literary Organization was formed in 2009. During the time, third country settlement process was going on, simultaneously there was agitation on the move for repatriation. Neither we were sure how life would be in new strange land nor have hope of going back to homeland Bhutan. Situation was such that youths are becoming more confused, there was lack of guardianship in art and literature, there was so many fear going on… Literary activities were no more taking place. All the leaders and seniors were out of scene. In fact, they were busy fixing their own concern. So, we some of the aware youths come together and form an organization called GBLO realizing that if this situation is not addressed, if we didn’t keep our art and literature in practice then our language, culture will be in endangered, our identity will be questioned always. This way GBLO was born with the main objectives of promoting, preserving and practicing art, culture and literature and helping the people at disadvantage.

Since then, this organization is active in keeping its set value. This “International Creative Ceremony” is nothing but a part of organization’s objective of empowering the community with creation and let we make our living dignified.

We have successfully conducted three episodes of this event. Our first event of this sort was held in the then Khudunabari Refugee Camp, Jhapa Nepal. Participants from more than 15 districts from Nepal were present. Our chief guest was Mr. Bimal rai, Himalaya Darpan Darjeeling Chief and eminent Indian Nepali writer. On the same way, many poets from Darjeeling, Sikkim and Assam were also participated. It was really grand three days’ successful program.

Our “International Creative Ceremony II” was held in Nebraska, USA in 2016. We had three days program with different session in different location. International Nepali Literature Society, President Mr. Padam Biswakarma was our first day chef guest whereas Madan Puraskar winner Mr. Krishna Darawashi was second day chief guest. This time, we have delegates from different organization and huge student and youth participants. “Organization of Bhutanese Communities in America” provided a big support to make this event happen. “Bhutanese Community in Nebraska” was the local host and we were proud to have White HImal TV, www.globalpostinfo.us, www.bhutandarpan.com as our media partners. It was yet another huge program of our history. We launched three Nepali Literary books. Day long cultural show and

SAHITYIK SAHJ was other attractions of the program. At the end we were successful in encouraging and motivating the youths towards the creative work building our identity in midst of American main stream. Besides this, we had also successful in imparting the message that we love peace, our culture and literature.

This time in organizing “International Creative ceremony IV” we have hope to make it more meaningful and historical. We always thankful and look forward for your kind help, cooperation and support to make this event happen.
